about
From a very young age, I inherited a primal mysticism surrounding technology. As much of a mouthful as it may be, it is the most honest and visceral way to define how I feel. I always found it fascinating how things worked, what I could do with them, and what else I could create. Throughout the years this has led to me trying to stoke this fire of creation with an assortment of kindling. The first of these fantasies was Lego, which I was with for a while but was ultimately a fad.
From there I got deep into the world of 3D printing and got really invested with what else I could create using software to design and publish my works to the world. I quickly picked up steam in the community, and built a successful 3D printing blog to thousands of visitors a week before its ultimate shutdown due to budget cuts :(. Nevertheless, I continued making models and seeing how I could use CAD tools and more to inspire me.
One thing led to another, and suddenly I was amazed by the rise of AI. Immediately, I became knee-deep in an obsession with it. First I was cautious of its capabilities, but soon relented after seeing what it could truly do.
It was here that I started building iOS apps, and copy pasting code from 3.7 Sonnet (those were the good days) to try to skirt compiler errors. I had a good time with this, and ended up publishing 2 apps, which collectively made about a dollar. Not the most spectacular outcome.
Once agentic coding tools gave way, I adopted early and began to take on more strenuous projects, including a monolithic 87,000 line project which I ultimately abandoned. In any case, I'd been bit by the bug, and I continued building apps and websites as my grades started to fall.
I became engulfed in the technology, and have brushed off a lot of my other life to pursue passions that it has instilled in me and create things I never thought I would be able to. Simultaneously, I am saddened by the commoditization of writing. But this leads me to today, where I make things to either
- a) make people happy
- b) make people's lives easier
